Performing Arts Classes for Children

Sonnets Theatre Arts School provides high quality performing arts classes for children to help develop confidence and life skills. No auditions are required to join the school, the school caters for all abilities.

Performing arts classes give children the fantastic opportunity to develop an invaluable skill set for life. Whether your child needs a confidence boost, or to channel their creative energy. The Sonnets team have coaching experience that will help develop your child’s imagination and interpretation of stories, whether it be through dance, drama or singing. In a supportive, fun and relaxed environment.

The 3 disciplines of drama, singing and dance give a rounded experience of performing arts. Pupils will learn how to articulate, present themselves and feel confident to stand and perform in front of an audience and most of all have fun!

The school Director is David Phaure who understands how the performing arts can make a huge difference to peoples lives.  He has over 13 years of drama and singing teaching experience and has extensive experience as a freelance acting coach for children and teenagers. In addition to this he has been an acting coach for adults working towards auditions for drama school, school drama scholarships and on film sets. He has worked with celebrities such as Bear Grylls and Mike Bushell.

LAMDA Acting Exam Assessments for children and teenagers

If your child wishes to take acting examinations, we can assess them to join a LAMDA Acting exam class. LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) examinations are recognised exams and as you get to the higher grades you gain UCAS points just like GCSE’s and A Levels. Some parents have reported a jump in their child’s english grades at school after taking LAMDA grades.  It is not just about acting, it is about understanding and interpreting pieces of literature.
